Mediteranean Style Cornice
You will need: Fabric 56 (62) (84) x 18
Drapery Ascot with Tassel 56 (62) (84
Tassel Trim 56 (62) (84)To Assemble:
Step 1: Place fabric right side-up and at one long edge attach the tassel trim. This will hide the raw edge of the panel. You can do this using iron on fusion tape, stick and peel velcro, hot glue gun or even just whip-stitch the trim in place.
Step 2: Lay fabric face down starting at the top pull fabric over edge and over the channel, tuck the fabric in the channel using the long friction foam rope to secure. Pull fabric over the short ends of the cornice using the shorter friction foam rope pieces in the same manner. Neatly fold the top corners in, as you would do wrapping a package.
Step 3: With cornice upright and facing you, place the drapery ascot over the top of your cornice making sure the tassel is centered. If you wish you can secure it by pulling the friction foam rope from the edges, secure your accent piece with the friction foam rope.
You have just created your own beautiful, elegant cornice easily and in less than a half an hour!
If you dont think the edges of the fabric covering the cornice are tight enough, just gently pull a section of the friction foam rope out, pull fabric a little tighter and replace the friction foam rope. You can change the whole look of your room by using different fabrics, adornments, trims or a create whole different style and all using the same cornice over again.
