You will need: Fabric panel 56 (62) (84) x 18
Solid fabric ribbon 56 (62) (84) x 8
4 piece of thread
(to gather & tie center of fabric ribbon)
56 (62) (84) x 12 polyester fiber fill
Decorative Tack pin & push back closure or Covered buttonTo Assemble:
Step 1: Lay material face down, center the polyester fiber fill starting at the top pull fabric over edge and over the channel, tuck the fabric in the channel using the long friction foam rope to secure. Turn cornice around and do the other long side using the same method. Tuck in the short ends of the cornice using the shorter friction foam rope pieces in the same manner. Neatly fold the corners in, as you would do wrapping a package, on the bottoms and tops of the side panels of the cornice securing with the remaining friction foam rope pieces.
Step 2: Take the solid fabric ribbon, fold to find the center. With the 4 piece of thread, wrap around the center three times and tie, trim thread ends. Center the gathered ribbon, turn over and gently pull up the side friction foam rope and lay over the material already tucked in and re-tuck securing with the friction foam rope. Do the other side in the same manner.
Step 3: Turn cornice face front, take the decorative tack pin or covered button and push through the center of the front foam core cornice panel. Be sure to catch the center gathering of your solid ribbon. Secure the decorative tack in the back with your push back closure.
You have just created your own beautiful, elegant cornice easily and in less than a half an hour!
If you dont think the fabric covering the cornice is tight enough or the wide fabric ribbon is not straight and centered, just gently pull a section of the friction foam rope out, pull fabric a little tighter and replace the friction foam rope. You can change the whole look of your room by using different fabrics, adornments, trims or create a whole different style and all using the same cornice over again.
